since i know the truth about jw, and still have to go to meetings for family reasons (and because i don't want to leave my friends, either) i get so sick in my chair in the hall.
i can't pay attention, i can't sit still knowing it's all such a waste of time and a big fat lie.
i get weird symptoms like: the feeling that i'm going to almost pass out, very sweaty or very cold, and weak legs though i'm sitting down, and the urge to get up and run away.

here is a list of the current governing body members:.
gerrit losch: born 1942, appointed july 1, 1994 .
guy h. pierce: born 1935, appointed oct. 1, 1999 .
A definite undercurrent to my finally leaving was that it had just become so Stale. You can only bash people for so long and like sizemik mentioned it really does seem as though they have painted themselves into a corner. But a drone is a drone, and having been one for so many years it's hard to say how long this thing of theirs can go on. For sure it is better to be out of that bubble and watching them struggle, and of course their ultimate demise would sure be a hoot, and yes it doesn't appear this current crop of gb's will add anything new to the equation.

i would like to share the information below with newer members and lurkers.
we're not insensitive to what you're now going through.
many of us have been in your position.
I am only glad that I was not raised a witness, but doing anything for 34 yrs is sure to leave a scar or two. Just so so glad to be outside the bubble now. Thx LWT, great post.

does anyone come into this religion who is doing well in life?
not to say any one particular person never did well in life, but when they were studying and getting baptized, at that particular time in their life, were things going good for them?.
i'm trying to figure out if anyone comes into this religion, while life is going good for them.
I'm with SceicViewer on this. I thought I had found the truth. My upbringing was pretty uneventful and no major bad things had happened to me. I too thought I was as just a normal kid.
i ask this because obviously everyone has different criteria, hence why we have muslims who think quran is the more than enough proof, christians who think the bible is perfect proof and atheists who believe that nothing yet has been proof enough of gods existence.. living with humans we all must have a good idea of human nature (god should certainly know) so what would you provide as proof if you were god to convince the masses of your existence?.
if you were a christian would your proof surpass that contained in the bible, would you provide less proof?.
if you are atheist would you provide a mathematical equation or a series of supernatural events that fulfill prophecies every 100 years?.
I would just flat out run the show. No more guessing games, no more wondering when - where - what - why. Just straight up run the whole show.
alot of members don't have a flag or country name beside their user name, and well frequently one doesn't know where that particular person is from, tell us your country, state, county or what ever you feel like giving out.
if you are going to post please at least devulge your country.. me, i'm originally from taranaki, new zealand via auckland.
for the most of this decade i have been living & working in brisbane, queensland, australia.. .

have been a member of jwr since 2008 and have not been to hall since june 2009, have celebrated 2 yrs without memorial - woohoo - that being said i have stopped by here frequently and decided yesterday to join your group.. it has been very enjoyable to read your stories as well as the other group i have been with, and so it just seemed reasonable to belong to both.. my story is no differant than all the others, the only thing is i was not born in.
that being said i also have no real issues with being an apostate (although i do believe it is used in the perjorative sense by the wt).. peace - brad.
CoC - now ex-wife is still a jw (wasn't just the religion, but my leaving it didn't improve things. divorce Dec. 2010)
transhuman68 - yes it is my real name, I mentioned enjoying a successful fade, as I have, but at this stage of the game there is nothing they could do to me that would make a lick of difference in my life now. That said I heartily agree it is not the best of moves for many people, I just have the pleasure to now do it that way, and I sincerely accept your concern.

Born and raised a fairly normal worldly kid. met a witness in early 1975 at work, studied with him, and got baptized Nov 1975. brooklyn bethel 1 yr 1977 -1978, ministerial servant several yrs, and just did my best to be a witness the rest of the time.
Not being born in I was never able to get over the fact that witnesses are really no different than any other religious group other than constantly being reminded that "oh yes they were." Over the years there were many things that bothered me about the whole wt thing but who was I to argue with gods channel.
In the spring of 2008 it got to the point that I just had to do something about my situation - should I stay or should I go - and I tried real hard to make a go of it, I sincerely tried to look for reasons to stay and only found more reasons to go.
Heading into the district convention in 2008 I was hopeful to find my solution and lo and behold I did, when I got my hands on the release "keep yourselves in gods love" I was ready to move forward as a witness and could not believe my eyes when I realized this was nothing more than a stinking rule book and that as they say was pretty much it for me. By the end of Nov. 2008 I told my wife I was done being a witness and my last meeting I attended was in May 2009.
You might say I have enjoyed a rather successful fade as I am not DF'd nor did I DA, I think it is more an out of sight out of mind thing. For sure it hurts very much to lose close friends of 34 yrs but then I guess thats the fruit of conditional love.
It took along time after I left to be able say it is a cult, I was more comfortable with "High Mind Control Group", (that just sounds more sexy) but as I sit here today it simply is a cult and sadly so many people are taken in by it.
Thats the jist of my situation and I thank-you for the warm welcome.
